BIOGRAPHY: ALISON RIPPIN
Alison Rippin BPE, CR, is a reflexologist, teacher, school owner, author, and business coach with 150 lectures and workshops to her credit. She specializes in supporting practitioners worldwide to make a bigger impact doing the work they love, through innovative programs and products, and highly relevant and effective approaches that lead to success!
For over 30 years she has followed her passion, having a successful private practice, an onsite corporate reflexology team, as well as teaching and operating her own Reflexology school, the Canadian Reflexology School. She has had the pleasure of teaching and mentoring over 1500 national and international practitioners from 20 countries in the steps to becoming a more successful reflexologist.
Alison has lectured and led business workshops at national and international industry events as well as speaking to hospital staff, insurance companies, and local media always fostering the future of Reflexology.
THE POWER OF LECTURING: MAKING REFLEXOLOGY A HOUSEHOLD NAME
INTRODUCTION
In the 1930s Eunice Ingham began traveling the United States lecturing at conferences, conventions, and even tiny halls sharing the amazing benefits of reflexology. In her quest to make reflexology mainstream she successfully used lecturing as her key marketing tool to get the word out about reflexology … and did so for over 40 years! She knew the power of the spoken word and how sharing information about reflexology with a diverse range of people could eventually make reflexology a mainstream therapy. As reflexologists it’s important that we take a page from Eunice’s promotional playbook and embrace the essential role lecturing has in making reflexology an established and commonplace therapy.
Lecturing is a powerful tool for reflexologists to establish credibility, and directly engage and educate various audiences, from the general public to healthcare professionals to corporate companies. It allows reflexologists to spread awareness about the benefits of reflexology, increase the visibility of the therapy, and help it gain recognition as a valuable, holistic practice, ultimately paving the way for reflexology to be a predominant wellness choice.
