Introduction:
The purpose of this presentation is to demonstrate and inform practitioners from around the world, how to prepare and initiate the appropriate touch that a baby is receptive too in order to soothe the
complex and painful condition commonly called colic. It is also to provide a clear understanding of what is vital in the practice of reflexology when working with infants. It will expand on the protocols
used to teach parents with the techniques and preparation required in order to support and ease their child through bouts of colic. There are numerous well meaning mistakes that many make that
cause children of all ages to reject reflexology and my presentation aims to eradicate these for the benefit of all children growing up into a world of love and acceptance of reflexology.
Method:
The presentation is based on the facts gleaned during my work within children’s hospitals where reflexology was introduced for the support of neonates plus plus child care support charities where
baby reflexology groups have been established.
Conclusion/Discussion:
The presentation will focus on what well meaning mistakes are made in the use and application of infant reflexology and how to make subtle and powerful changes that transform the power and
effectiveness of using reflexology to support babies and children.
